Self-Reclaimed: Journey

  • Puzzle Box Dance Studio 3360 North Elston Avenue Chicago, IL, 60618 United States (map)

Self-Reclaimed is excited to announce our long-awaited week-long workshop series: Journey; in partnership with The Good Knight, SheWolf, Resilience, Kai-Nix, and The Puzzle Box. Our mission is to heal, empower, and unite survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence so that we can bring our vision of a world free of sexual assault and domestic violence into reality. We promise to uphold our pillars of service so that all of our programs are accessible, holistic, person-centered, sustainable, and trauma-informed. We promise to uphold our values of transparency, integrity, openness, authenticity, and compassion so that all of our staff and participants have a safe space to heal, empower, and unite amongst themselves, their communities, and the world.

The purpose of the Self-Reclaimed Journey is to offer healing, empowerment, and unity through our recreational, therapeutic, and educational programming. Our week-long workshop series will predominantly be virtual via Zoom to promote accessibility and adhere to safe COVID guidelines. A couple of our workshops will be in-person at the Puzzle Box with a strict capacity limit and guidelines to ensure everyone's health and safety. Additionally, to promote accessibility, our programming is entirely FREE! Donations for our services are encouraged and accepted through The Good Knight. Please click https://bit.ly/GKDonations to donate.

Self-Reclaimed's mission is to create an environment of safety to heal, educate, and empower survivors of sexual assault to reclaim identity, wholeness, and self-expression. We are dedicated that every survivor is empowered to reclaim their lives and be fully expressed. By providing trauma-informed recreational and therapeutic activities, our beneficiaries will have access to a community to bring forth the possibility of safety, healing, creativity, connectivity, and expressivity to reclaim their wholeness that was always present. Our trauma-informed recreational and therapeutic programs include, but are not limited to yoga, self-defense, dance, creative movement, sensuality/sexuality, mindfulness, and self-esteem classes, as well as sexual assault education classes.
